Argon Gas or Krpton Gas
Argon gas is used frequently for double pane-insulated windows. This is put in the air spaces by an injection system. Many times consumers ask if these gases will escape from the windows. Well actually there is likelihood that there will be a small degree of leakage. This is managed by the quality of the system that is used. The better manufacturers use better equipment so there will be hardly any escape. But there is no such thing as a complete vacuum seal to prevent it totally.
Krypton gas is another type of gas used to increase the energy efficiency of replacement windows. It is only effective with dual or two air spaces, which means a triple pane replacement window. There is no data to back up a value putting this in dual glaze windows. In a triple pane window it can increase performance by as much as 60%
